New Axi Cyclone Sailplane Motors

Esprit Tech shows us some new sailplane motors from Axi with the Cyclone line. These inrunner/outrunner motors feature triple ball-bearing supports and pre-installed cooling fans. They are long and low profile making them perfect for sailplane applications. The fans will help with cooling since it is hard to get ram air to the motor when installed in narrow fuselages. We don't know the motors sizes yet or when they will be available, but you can see Esprit Tech bench testing a prototype right here.

There was MVVS long time before HK copied exactly they motors, and before that AXi who originally designed this type of motors.

Esprit, yes MVVS did come first, and thus copied by HK, but do you have to be so harsh? Is Esprit going to continue to carry the MVVS series motors, if these Axi's become available?

Great way to draw in more customers with your warm manner......

As a sponsoring supplier you really feel that this sort of reply on a public forum will make you any friends or customers? Far better to just remain silent.

Actually no, the Model Motor (AXi) did develop this idea. But somebody moved from AXi to MVVS and they started producing this design.
Either way it does not matter, looks like MVVS is concentrating on Gasoline engines and slowed down the production. We have decided to invest money and bring new improved motors back with cooperation with AXi.

We will see new motors in next few weeks as well as NEW Longer 2830-35 standard Sailplane motors.

Any idea on pricing?

I dont know a lot about motors, but it looks like the can is very thick. Not just on the ones pictured, but most electric motors. Surely some weight could be dropped with thinner castings? If cooling is a consideration, then add fins?

Not yet, will do in next two weeks.

Case is not thick, it's rotor inside of case. Outrunner/Inrunner design.
Cooling? Motor has internal cooling fan, this is outrunner.

Response is what they're looking for. They want you to get angry and drop to their level. Just pretend they're not there, please. Slow, deep breaths...

And there was Align encapsulated outrunners before MVVS. I've had two of them about ten years ago.
Like this one.
