Sheeting the Simple 400s wing


Anyone tried this? Ive been think of getting a Simple 400 and really want a strong wing so i never have to worry about breaking it.

I broke 6 fuselages before I snapped the wing against the ground. I glued it back with epoxy and still use it.

All I had was a single strip of lexan self adhesive tape that came with my FMA Razor.
This tape along the bottom prevented flexing during loops etc.

Most of the damage to this wing is at the tips and dings on the leading edge. They easily repair with light weight spackle.

I had two severe crashes and the most durable thing was this foam wing! I just covered it with Ultracote, nice looking Finish and strong enough. I wouldn't bother with some fancy covering job (excpet for flame decals of course )...

I agree with Jens.

I covered my T-52 wing with Ultracote, and its solid. You can heat gun the wing to tighten it up after it gets dinged.

Do cover it, as it makes a strong structure.
