Do you want a warbird, private aviation, what era?.., etc...?
TopFlite makes a great series of kits in the warbird category that I've always admired. There's a P-51, a Corsair, a P-40, P-47, all in the .60 size range. I've not built any of these, but if I were looking for a scale project, I'd give each one, really all of them a good look. All fall around a 65" wingspan. A club friend built 3 of the above planes, by the book, and I was always impressed to see all 3 together on flying day. I do believe if these planes are built by the book, you're near guaranteed a great flying plane... Top Flite.. can't go wrong is my 2 cents. |

Yeah for warbirds you can't beat Topfligt... even their Cessna 182 and discontinued Beach Bonanza and Cessna 310 kits are supposedly real good. If not a warbird I'd go for a Carl Goldberg or Sig Piper Cub... Cubs are a perfect first scale subject... you can also build them as Clipped wing variant to shorten the span.

I like the Sig Craftsmen Series for scale kits. They have excellent instructions, easy to read plans, and the models fly very well.
The kits do not possess jig lock construction. Some parts need to be cut out by the builder, too. Overall, they aren't that hard to build, though. I would suggest the Sig Spacewalker II, for a first scale build. |

NadavB,
I suggest you include where you live in your name information so that people can take account of cost of shipping issues. The original poster in an earlier post complained that receiving a Sig kit from the U.S. would have a shipping cost of $60.. btw, some manufacturers of kits on their website allow you to download the instruction manuals - but not the plans - for free so you can inform yourself as to how details the instructions are before you buy.
