I find it hard to come to one particular reason for the problem....but taking into consideration that it looks as if it was a windy day .
The model climbed pretty steeply with the wind getting under the blades and the pilot not being able to correct the ship in only a couple of seconds.
This is understandable for a pilot that has not had a lot of stick time on an autogyro , especially on an untrimmed model. Power needed to have been reduced and down trim applied ..instantly
I have had the exact same problem when I was trying to come to grips with these machines many years ago.
I'm pretty sure that there is not to much wrong with this model if it were tested in lighter wind conditions.....with a hand launch.
I'm sure we should get some more words of advise on this video.

Mal looks like the take off had a side wind and the rotors not up to speed with the model rolling left.

Hand launch was a little steep and needed a lot of down added to get it level (been there done that)

Like the Atom tail

Good job I don't have video of this hand launch

Australia must have heard my cursing

After launching I accidently hit the motor cut switch

The field is so wet that there was very little damage and it is repaired and I have flown it since

I will get some video soon.

The new RX appears to have cured my problems finding a sweet spot

Not perfect but at least I feel like I have control

I hope to find a smooth area and try ROG

Self levelling reciever

Hi everybody, I did some Starts allready with the Luobo, but no real "Landing"!

Flight Times from 10 seconds to few minutes......

I wonder if it would help to use a auto level reciever like an s6r and Set it up as a wing aircraft.

Did someone tried this allready?

Best regards
Kurt

Kurt I took my eagle tree self leveling controller from my bixler fpv model and fitted it to the Luobo works fine

Only had roll setup kept the rest of the controls

Very easy to do flat turns using the rudder

I think the s6r will work also and might be easier to setup

Thank you Jockadopolus,

I am going to try that soon.
Probably you have to Set HP delta wing plane, right?

G'day all
Sorry guys I've been out of action for the last couple of weeks with other issues and events in South Oz

Chris & Joe
Thanks for all your helpful advice re video test flight postmortem, much appreciated, it's a steep learning curve for these rotary wing models
I only need to strengthen the firewall and re-assemble, new motor, prop etc and she's ready for test flight #2, maybe on a little less windy day???

Joe
Thanks for putting my test flight video up on the forum.
Your latest video was impressive, it looks like you have much better control with the larger battery and new RX.
Looking Good

Cheers Mal

Hi guys
Finished mine a week ago with some alterations. After seeing Joe had some issues with tail strikes I found a spare boom from an auto G. Fitted perfectly. Tail plane seems flimsy. Also using a three blade prop off a demised PBY. Now I just have to get the hang angle right, wait for a calm day, see if Mal is available and perhaps see what Chris is up to. We will try to video the flight.

Great flight Alan well done

My first flights were unpredictable but a new receiver cured that

Weather has been bad here and a week with the flu has stopped me flying
