I saw a PBS show years ago about transplanting moth brains where they picked moths that had distinct behavioral differences and transplanted brains and noted the behavior also transferred. Duh.

A few years ago there was a team that RC controlled a flying beetle by hijacking the cortex.

I unerstand now why insect neurologists are usually electrical engineering and computer scientists and that's because nobody else knows how to get hardware that tiny.
