Taranis: Silent Bluetooth Telemetry!
Add Bluetooth to silently monitor your Taranis telemetry!
Bluetooth transmitter from Amazon Bluetooth receiver from Amazon If the receiver is unavailable, here's a search for similar items. This one looks good. Here's the Bluetooth transmitter mounted to the back of the module compartment cover with double- sided sticky tape. There's a notch cut out at the bottom corner for the audio cable to pass through. Here's the module compartment cover in place with the audio cable plugged into the Taranis audio jack. And it works great! I used it in a TD contest recently and was able to monitor my RSSI (received signal strength indication), flight mode warnings, battery level telemetry, etc. without distracting or bothering the other flyers in the contest. |

And if you're wondering about the wind streamer that also attaches to my module compartment cover, here's a better view:

I like your idea and have adapted it for my RC tug. Basically replaced the alerts with sound effects and replaced the Bluetooth earpiece with a Bluetooth speaker on the boat.
That way I can play engine noises and horn effects on the boat from the transmitter. Sure it's not going to have fantastic range but for a total of £7 it's a cheap way to do it. |
