I am anticipating the need for a bit of a break from serious F3K after the wc in Ukraine this July. I've been thinking about ordering an X-RES kit from hyperflight, putting it together, and eventually hooking up with a few of your F3-RES events. Looks fun. I've built and covered a lot of balsa models, but it's been years. I think I might enjoy it.

Dusting off this thread with an addition to the list of F3RES planes in the Salt Lake Valley area.
I recently purchased and built a German kit, a MADres, glider. Neat thing about it is the solid balsa wood wing. Not built up. only 5 pieces to the wing, plus the joiners, if used for transport breakdown. My first F3RES and I really like it. My first hi-start plane and now have added hooks to two of my DLGs...and converted another to a 2 meter polyhedral glass/foam bagged wing REF ship. My hi-start is set up for small fields and parks suitable for DLGs. 10 meters of red rubber + 65 yards of 100# spectra. I pace off 20-25 steps and let fly. Very pleasing results. 12-14 ounce planes go up like a rocket. Anything above that ...more like a semi truck. I'm flying these at POTM on lite lift days and at Galena & Smith Fields Park in Draper. |

I accidentally left my flight box at the S. Flight park yesterday. A gentleman was there flying his Radian and he had a K-2 glider. Was hoping him or someone else saw it and picked it up.
