Welcome, and take it easy with this quad. Most settings have been set properly, but there are a few pitfalls. I wonder if you got the right connector type for those antennas. The VTX has a center pin:

Thanks Solo. Fortunately, those items are still in my cart. I was waiting to check out until I hopefully got some responses.
So, I need an antenna with a female connector. I can't seem to find a female version of one of those Crazepony antennas, is there a popular one that you can recommend? |

These work well: http://www.banggood.com/Aomway-5_8GH...-p-961730.html
And contrary to what you would expect, you still need male, but RP-SMA |

I brought the Wizard to Hillview to do the technical lap, my camera's gone nuts after changing lenses, might have damaged something in the process...
in any case, as expected it isn't as fast as the other more powerful (and expensive) quads out there, but it's not far behind!

I think the purple color is closer to what he has on his home planet. I mean, it's quite obvious that people that fly this way, are not from this planet. They are probably just using earth and our old-skool technology to further hone their dogfighting skills, before going back to wage war in a "galaxy, far far away"... |

Lol!! You're both too kind :P
Nono I assure you I don't like purple.. It's my wife's favourite colour though, she may have something to do with this -_- Unfortunately I think it's something wrong with the camera and not the lens I swapped in the camera from the RTF today and brought it out again, later tonight I'll see if lap times were any better in "earth green" colour :P |

So, your wife's home planet's main light color. The expression "earth green" exposes you as alien, there is no denying. I agree, the lens can't be the issue, while there are color lenses, these have been fitted with a special treatment, to filter certain light frequencies. A normal lens suddenly turning into a color filter lens, is basically impossible. Sounds more like wiring or something on the image chip was damaged, so it is missing a base color completely. |

Okie I timed today's laps with the ARF (transferred the camera from the RTF) marginal improvements but it does prove one thing: Green is faster than purple! |

FYI I think the purple has to do with your lense not having an IR filter built in. they typically look like this https://cdn6.bigcommerce.com/s-xkoep...0.1280.jpg?c=2
some cameras need those, others dont. |

Spectrum DX9 compatible receiver
I am just getting into the ARF model. What is a great, lightweight receiver I could use that is directly compatible with my Spectrum DX9?

Betaflight 3.0
Received my ARF wizard the other day, looks great, hooked it up to my deviated devo 10 using a redcon ppm receiver with no fuss, just a bit of fiddling setting up flight mode and arming switches. The betaflight cli tells it came with betaflight 3.0.0 already installed!
