1gig SD card for Nikon 3700

Does anyone know if the Kingmax 1 gig sd card will work in a Nikon 3700? The speed is fast enough at 10mb/sec but there was something about this card being thinner than others. Does anyone have any expiriences with this? Thanks

New egg has the one gig for 109.00 and 2.00 shipping. I think that I may get this for my camera.

I bought one from New Egg for my Nikon 3700 and it is fantastic!!! Very fast card and well worth the $109.00 I paid for it. Not to mention the 15 minutes of video that it holds

I was just on the New Egg site and noticed the 1gb Kingmax card is now 99.97. Link is located here I also noticed the 1gb for 109.00 looks like it is not the high speed card.

Check the site again, it says it's the 60x card. I think that's the high speed one. Heck, I just ordered the card an yesterdays price..

Here's some good words for Newegg. You remember that I ordered the SD card at the $109.97 price and the next day they lowered the price by $10. Well I emailed customer service and asked if they could adjust my cost, today I got the SD card and an email from them saying they will credit my the $10. Now, it don't get much better than that.
NEWEGG is TOPs in my book, this card is a real bargain.

New Egg vs. Memory Suppliers

I thought you might find this interesting... Right before this thread started
I ordered some memory for my computer and noticed that they also carried
SD cards. They offered the kingmax 1g at 249.00. Which at the time I wasn't up on the latest prices for sd's so I thought it was a good deal also
since I just purchased two 1g pc2700 samsung chips at 199.00 each. Then
I started reading this thread and I went to the newegg site and saw the 109.00 card, a few days later I saw it for 99.00 so I bought it because it looked as though it was the same one I just paid 249.00 for. I said if they are the same I will send the more expensive one back. Well the newegg one arrived today and the package is virtually the same except for the phrase
"High Speed 60X SD card" is missing as seen on the 249.00 memory suppliers package. Although in the upper right corner it says platinum max 60X like the
more expensive one. The cards themselves look identical in the package.
I opened the 99.00 new egg card and put it in my nikon 3700 and it works
fine. It records video at 640x480 at 30fps for 916seconds, which is fine with me. I'm sending the other card back... Just a couple quick questions...
I wrote down the number of pictures that would fit on the card at different
resolutions... 643pics @ 3M Highest resolution, all the other settings gave the same number of pics @ 999. Is this correct? Or is 999 the max readout
for the screen? I'm asking because my Lexar 16mb card says 124 pics @
tv 640x480 setting and the 1GB card says 999 @ tv 640x480.
Just puzzled!
Here are some pics, the side by side package comparison has the new egg
package on the left with the bar code label across it.

Anyone have any thoughts on the number of pics available on the card in my last post?

Thanks!

My 3700 shows 565 in high 2048 mode with the Kingmax 1g x60 card. Normal 2048 mode shows 999

999 is as far as the counter goes. I have been using the 1 gig card and it works great - really a bargain.

I have a question for you guys on the number of pics my card will hold...I have a 256 mb card (the kingmax highspeed one, 30 dollars) and when I am taking pics with my Nikon Coolpix 3700, the picture counter says that I can take 160 pics but I actually end up being able to take right around 260 pics (my setting is on the highest one: 3m high or whatever it is). It seems to me that something is off here...what do you guys think? Maybe my camera is overcompressing the images? When I upload them most are below 1 mb. What kind of picture file size are you guys getting with your Nikon 3700s on the highest quality setting?
Thanks for your help,
Dan

2048 High mode 928kb, 2048 Normal mode 629kb. This is in windows explore, other programs read the file size differently.
