Thermals the path to elevation

Based on very valid input, we will be extending to prep time between heats to 7-mins. We will adjust on the fly to give everyone time to walk out to lanes. In order to keep the seed as pure as possible, you may have occasional back-to-back flights.

If a pilot is early getting out to the field, leave close lanes for those running behind. I also plan to build in an extra 2-3 meters per lane, and while this will make the walk farther it will increase the safety factor. I will also place streamers at each end of the safety corridor so you have a visual reference on wind direction when breezes are light. Plan your approach accordingly.

Next year will will probably have to go to 4 or even 5 flight groups, and this will mean pilots will only fly once per hour. We were trying to avoid that this year, but as a result there will be (10) of you up in most heats. We will be very strict about pilots turning or circling anywhere near the landing pins. Please, don't make the line judge warn anyone on cross lane landings.

Let's have fun out there.

As far as practice on Fri AM where would you prefer we fly: the Basin or Schnepf? i.e. I don't want to get in the way of things getting set up. Thanks.

Basin 116 will be wide open. That's our normal field.

I'm out. I'll be putting in a new water heater instead of flying.

Hey guys, just a heads up, neither Larry or I will be able to make the contest. We hit a little snag when getting ready to leave.

Light air in the early rounds this morning, wind picked up a little this afternoon. Mostly challenging conditions where high launches were the order of the day for the most part.
7 rounds in today. Charlie Morris is leading, followed by Skylar Raver and Brad Juntunen.
