Thank you.
I love to design and build planes. Hopefully with support of RC community I will be able to spend more time doing it. I have many new plane ideas in my "would like to build" list.

First print has some minor issues PLA....help appreciated

Hi Kraga,

Very nice concept. I printed your thingverse test file and seems like I have some minor issues. I posted these pictures and my PLA print settings. Maybe you can give me some tips on what settings I should try to change.

Here are some basic settings (full file is attached):
layer_height = 0.25
wall_thickness = 0.4
retraction_enable = True
solid_layer_thickness = 2
fill_density = 0
nozzle_size = 0.4
print_speed = 60
print_temperature = 210
print_temperature2 = 0
print_temperature3 = 0
print_temperature4 = 0
print_bed_temperature = 60
support = None
platform_adhesion = Raft

Hi miniellipse,

sorry for late response, I'm not checking this thread that often (I'm checking my support email frequently though).

To me it looks like overheating issue. Try to lower printing temperature or increase cooling fan speed (or both).

Ok. I will try to lower temperature first. Thanks.

Printing the Kraga

I'm starting my print. I'll update my results as I go.
I'm using a CraftBot. All defaults except for these settings.

layer height 0.300 mm
Infill Density 10%
No raft
Bed Temp 70c
Head Temp 220c

Here is a pic of my first print. Not the slight surface imperfection.

Fuse #3

Part Fuse #3 done.

Where I'm doing this work has nine (9) 3D printers. I found not all are the same. One printer is printing the parts (FUSE) every time. Another has failed 3 out of 3.

Some parts like the servo mounts I can print without a raft. The fuse parts do require a raft.

Hi Mark, this seems to me like an issue with retraction. Check this link, it might help (ignore that the image is not quite like your issue) https://www.simplify3d.com/support/p...blobs-and-zits.

Dry fit

Coming along nicely. Need more carbon rods and tubes to complete.
