Time For Me To Fly!

Thread OP
I've been looking at plastic model kits trying to find a body. I'd really like to do a Subaru Brat body for it.

That would look cool! I also thought about trying to convert it to a ATV look (RCSparks did one with a different micro crawler). It would be awesome looking hooked in the bed of a 1/10 crawler

Been having a bit of an issue with the truck. After a few minutes of running it cuts off. Steering still works but it won't go. Is that the LVC?

How would these work? http://m.ebay.com/itm/302166200997?_...25&_mwBanner=1
Seems like a good deal

Yeah, it sounds like you're hitting LVC. On the stock battery I only get about 10 minutes of solid run time, and after that, any kind of load cuts power to the motor.

Those batteries might not fit the stock battery location, but should be easy enough to make fit under the body somewhere. They'll definitely improve run time immensely.

Yep that's what happening to me. I was running it up some cardboard ramps I made and it kept cutting off. Then I was driving it full throttle around the room for the cat to watch and it went for probably a good 8 minutes more. I'm going to try those lipos. Hopefully will be better under load.

Also this seems like a good fpv rig for around the house. Would I be better off getting a true fpv camera and goggles, or get something like this? http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...=6#videoiframe Could get one of those "reality" goggle things to put my phone it to make it more fpv like. But I might be better off getting a true fpv setup (I believe SoloProFan has a thread started on some goggles for ~$75, and a camera for ~$20, which I could use in more vehicles) but that route would be much more expensive obviously. Might have range issues in the house with the cheaper tower camera...what should I get??

I would get a small AIO FPV camera and a pair of inexpensive goggles. There are cameras for under $20 and goggles for under $50 so for around $70 or so you'd have a set up that can be used on anything you want to mount it to. You'll have a blast driving FPV.

Oh really?? I didn't know I could get them that cheap. Do you have links to some of those? I am a complete newbie to fpv. Wanted to get into it for a long time just not quite sure how

Good goggle choice? http://m.banggood.com/Eachine-VR008-...4091106201603G About the cheapest I can find. But I might be looking in the wrong place

I have this camera, and these goggles, and they've been a great combo for me so far.

That camera goes on sale for $16.99 all the time. In a day or two it will very likely be on sale again. These goggles also go on sale for $45 on a regular basis so if you just keep your eye on them for a couple days you'll be able to save some money.

Thanks for the links! Would your $17 camera be compatible with the $50 goggles I linked?

WLtoys No. 24438 1/24 Micro Rock Crawler $43 Shipped

Since we're on this topic. Neither of these $50 goggles that were linked also record? So would the jump in pixels to 800x480 vs. 480x272 as well as DVR ability be worth $50 more?

Correct, neither of those goggles have the ability to record. A built in DVR is definitely a nice feature, and if you feel like it is something you would use frequently, then I would say yes it is worth the extra money, and the higher resolution is also an added bonus.

When I used a friends 480x272 goggles, and then put my KDS Kylin 800x480 goggles back on the difference was very noticeable.
