Help!

Needs help on new Wattage Cessna 182...


Wattage have this new "scale" looking Cessna 182 400 EP ARF Park Scale Flyer they call it and it does looks good but I tried to e-mail Hobbypeople regarding the # of servo it needs for the ailerons and they claimed that it's only a throttle, rudder and elevator plane! I don't get it- in their ad, it says it is a full A/E/R/T plane, which one is it? I need to know because I still use only 3 channel radio and if the AILERONS ONLY NEEDS A SINGLE SERVO to operate, then I can just bypass the rudder. I appreciate anybody who can provide me with more accurate info. Thanks.

I think they have the 182 400 ARF confused with the 180 RTF cessna.
The 180 RTF is R/E/T. The 182 ARF is full house, It looks, from the pictures,
pretty cool.

I'm thinking about buying this plane. From the website it looks really nice.
They're available in australia?? because I don't think they are out yet here in the U.S.
Is it a nice kit..pretty heavy or light??

Thanks for the reply Robbie, VR6. Robbie- Did you notice if the aileron uses only 1 servo? Also, are the fuselage and the wings made out of plastic of was it foam. Let me know because it's already available and Hobbypeople carries it in stock. Thanks much.

I just picked one today. The aileron use 1 servo, using belcrank setup for the control surface. The wing, vert stab & horizontal stab are made of balsa. I think only the fuse made of plastic...not foam.

Now gotta figure out how to mount the motor

That's perfect- I'll end up using my 400 cobalt motor on it until I can shell out some dough for lipo/brushless set-up. Good luck on the plane- I think it's gonna be awesome- looks great and detailed- post your first flight so we know what to expect- thanks buddy.

My LHS has them on order, I should have mine flying in about 10 days. Probably going with an external rotor brushless setup, and going to use my 3-cell Lipos I already have for other planes/helis.

There's a build thread on here, cant remember if it was foamies, or parkflyers, or electric plane talk... But there is a really good build thread.

Yup just found it, its in electric plane talk, look on the second page, about half way down and look for the key words "cessna 182" Its a really in depth build thread.

I think that build thread is for the Ultrafly 182, not the Hobby People 182.

Brad's Birds: What kind of brushless are you going to use. I'm thinking either the AXI 2212/26. Or for less money I'll go with Himaxx 2015-4100 but haven't figure out how to mount the gearbox. Can you please post your setup & maiden flight please...

tnsfrk: Yeah the plane should look good. It seems to be better build than my wattage cup 400 EP. And I hope it doesn't fly like the cub...(that cub 400 is for sure not for a beginner). It will be sometime untill I can start working on the cessna. I just finished my MM smoothe and I'm starting on my switchback. But I'll post here when I'm done.
