Groover plans:

I would love to have a set of Groover plans for the .60 size if possible. [email protected]

You can find the Groover 4-60 plans here - https://seniorpattern.com/Groover.html. Links are at the bottom of the page.

Hello,
I just came across this thread. There was mention of a 90 sized version in a previous post.

If I might ask, what did the wingspan come out to and which wing variant was used?

Thanks,

Mark

Did the RCgroups server back up from a few weeks back not contain the photos from the first 4 pages? All of Dave Swanson's photos are missing.

Those photos were from my now defunct photobucket account. Sorry for that. I will work on adding them again.

One twin Groover has been built. It was built by a local friend and fellow Groover enthusiast. He has since gotten out of RC and he gave the twin to me.

It is a bit battle weary and could use a recover. My friend started out with a pair of OS 40FSRs, but switched to OS 32FSRs. He said the rolls were hard to stop accurately with the centrifugal weight of the 40s, and was much improved with the 32s. He felt the pair of 32s provided plenty of power.

The wingspan is 74". Fuselage length is 52" No plans exist for this one. As you can tell by looking at the wing, the wing area is on the lean side. The root chord is 11.5" and the tip chord is 5.5".

Taffy pull with a Groover contest? Neat looking plane though. Is it a floater?

Groover Grande?

With Dave Swanson's kind approval I've got a start on an enlarged CAD version of the Groover (a Groover Grande?) for a DLE 20RA gasser.

It works out to around 915 sq. in. and 76 in WS. I have attached a low resolution copy of what I have so far.

As you see it here this is just a Groover 60 enlarged to the new size. The outlines are 100% but I really haven't started on the needed structural changes.
It took longer than I thought to get the Groover airfoil converted into a file that can be loaded into an airfoil plotting program.

If anyone else has tried to put the Groover into CAD I would like to compare notes. If there is enough interest from the group I'll start a new thread so as to not steal Dave's.

All comments welcome.

Thanks,

Mark
