Save Space and Improve RF Performance

Improved RF performance is one of the features of the new SR2100, says Spektrum. This space-saving micro receiver ditches the traditional wire antenna in favor of an internal PCB antenna. The Spektrum SR2100 DSMR receiver is a 3-channel design, and features waterproof Reliakote conformal coating that "seals its electronics from the elements and other corrosives like nitro methane or motor spray."

Nice design. Just missing one important spec, the range.

KE Spins make me dizzy.
Looks like almost an exact copy of Airtronics' line of receivers.

Looks great. Now why does it have to cost more than $30? I have no idea the price. Just know it's too much.

They can no longer earn money on broken antenna and receivers that get replaced because of that, so they need to facture in the loss in revenue in the price of the antenna-less receiver, maybe?

Considering that the sr2000 was $99, this isn't bad. As for the range, if you buy a cheap rx don't expect it to go a mile. If you spend a bit more, it will be just fine. I use a sr2000 for speed runs and it goes as far as the eye can see.

That's odd indeed. Maybe some issues were revealed, and for once, it was decided to not let the customer be the guinea pig to discover these?

That would certainly be a welcome change. For one thing, I'd like to see an additional connection slot available on the receiver.

For the vast majority of on-readers, they use 4 connections on their receiver:

Throttle / ESC
Steering Servo
Motor Fan
Transponder

As it is, this receiver only has 3, so that leaves the need to use a Y harness, or run the fan straight off the battery, which isn't great for the long term life of the fan.

Awesome news. Great for Spektrum users like rcdog and Bill 'Yes Man' Delong.

It looks to be the same size as the normal receivers it just has half the board turn on a 90* angle. So it has a smaller 'footprint'. I remove the case on my micro builds and put on a large piece of heat shrink for protection.
