First thought :

- Well built.
- Seems solid.
- Soft plastic will surely prevent from breakage.
- Chassis flexibility will maybe change gears mesh.
- Many parameter on transmitter who allow to slow down the car also, good for very young kids.
- Light system available (5 volt).
- 3 wires JR plug allow to use a more standard servo.
- Waterproof esc will allow to use it in wet environment.
- Standrad Dean/T connector is a good thing.
- 12mm hex hub allow to use 1/10 wheels.
- Motor pinion is 0.7m, not very standard size, but as motor position isn't adjustable, we can't change motor pinion size., 3 motor's position.
- To remove motor or access differential we must remove 50% of the parts (upper deck).
- I'm not sure it can reach 50km/h, i guess more than 30km/h, will see with speed test.

Videos :

Speed test :

• REMO HOBBY - ROCKET Smax 1/16 4WD - Speed test • (16 min 44 sec)

- Works pretty nice.
- Steer very quick on asphalt.
- Rear bottoming out a lot.

Feel free to ask any questions

More to come , stay tuned

Yeah sorry, I thought it was from that other supplier that asked for volunteers then I saw the logo bottom right of your screen grab after I posted my original comment. So you lucky bugger, your getting two samples but different versions. Nice. (I'll pm you my address for when you are finished reviewing the sct )

Jym, is that coupon at BG or Tmart?

Also, how do you see this coping with a brushless upgrade?

It is a Tmart coupon .

The very soft center drive shaft can be an issue with brushless motor imo. From what i can see on remo hobby website there should be a metal upgrade, but i don't know if it will be available.

That seems a nice RC!

The driveline looks similar to the a979!, like the spurgear, I wonder if a steel a979 spur would fit?

What I would do is add some oil shocks and fabricate an aluminium plate under the chassis, the this little rc would almost be perfect!

I think the metal gears look great and are rather strong but when it is some kind of pot metal it probably will wear fast

I do love those tires!

There is already a steel spur gear as spare provided with the car.

I will try to compare RH and WLtoys spur gear.

Shock will leak.

Yes, will see gear durability. But if the car is kept as stock i think it is durable.

Yeah but therefore you must get some oil shocks, I do believe the upgraded ones from the a979 will fit

If they have 70mm from hole to hole, yes, it will fit.

Hi,

Can anyone please tell me what size pinion gear this truck uses what pitch and what size axle ?

Also is this truck trully 21cm wide ? Isnt this too wide for 1/16 scale ? My 1/12 scale car is about that wide too.

What size are the wheels ? Diameter and width ?

This car cames in 3 versions: buggy, monster truck and short course truck right ? Different body but inside the mechanics are the same correct ?

Thanks
