Black Horse Spitfire MK IX 2000mm 33cc BH 136

Pilots

I bought this plane and I want to go fly with a GAS engine.
So anyone who has this plane you're welcome to give your opinion regarding this plane.
Winspan: 2.000mm 78.74inch
Length: 1.760mm 69.29 inch
Weight: 6.8Kg 14.96 lbs

Engine recomended by BH: OS GT 33CC GAS

Comes with air retracs, but I sold them I want electric and bought these from HK, All Metal Servoless 90 Degree Retract for Large Models (10~12kg) w/10mm Pin.
I will use leggs, wheels that came with plane.

Servo's:

Flaps, Aileron and Rudder: Corona DS339HV Digital Metal Gear Servo 5.1kg / 0.13sec / 32g
Elevator: BMS-621DMG+HS High Speed Digital Servo (Metal Gear)7.2kg / .10sec / 46.5g
Gas GWS standard servo.

Motor:
Update 26-1-2017 DLE 30 prop : Graupner 18 x 10

XMTR: Futaba 12FG
RCVR: Futaba R6014HS 14 channel

Flying weight: 8.5 Kg ( due to 1,1Kg lead to set CG right)

Static trust: 7.89 Kg

If I were you, I would use ROTO 25 or some 30cc engine (DLE 30).
I put DLE 30 into my Seagull 30 cc Spitfire (2030 mm). She has heavy tail in the video, so it wasnīt the best flight.
Seagull Spitfire 30cc maiden flight (3 min 17 sec)

fuselage

Hi pilots

Today I started with fuselage inspection.
All seems good, I will fly with gas engine so I coated inside fuse with Polyurethaan.
Will take my time to build me this nice plane.

Retracts en Flap servo's installed

Pilotes

Retracts are installed, only remove some material and re mounted M3 bolts in wing to fit my HK retracts unit.
I used legs from KIT and needed to shorten them 5mm in order that wheel will fit into wing.
Flap servo's installed, I noticed that I had to reverse one servo so they go the same way, my servo's are smaller than standard and I was able to fit them into mount with some 5mm wood, see pics.
After glue adapters on flap I noticed that alignment wasn't right......ordered Ball Linkage to solve this issue.

spinner backplate

Spinner backplate is way out of balance.
I removed weight by drilling material .
Now in balance, cone is another story need some tool for my balancer to test this.
Also make decision about prop, 4 blade ore 3 blade ore 2 blade?????

Flap alignement

Pilot's

My ball linkage arrived at only 8 days from china.
Because of alignement problem I solved this by using these ball linkage.
Picture tell's story I think

building again

Pilot's

Building again afther a while found some time to do more on this plane.
It's a ARF so it's just putting all in and adjusting servo's with XMTR.
Using a corona 14channel RCVR
I changed pilot by one from HK looks more real to me.
Pictures tell story

Motor

Pilots

I received my motor and started to mount it .
I had option 1 pitts exhaust and option 2 long exhaust.
I decided to go for long exhaust also this one reduced exhaust noise.

Cowl also ready and tested with prop and spinner, lloks good to me.
Only cooling of engine is tricky will see.

Motor propeller test

Pilots

Started with motor test and looking for prop.
1ste Biela 19x12 gives me 5400 Rpm and trust 4,5Kg
2de Biela 19 x 8 x 4 gives 4400 Rpm trust 4,5Kg
finaly Graupner 18 x 10 gives 6900 Rpm trust 6,5 Kg
Spitfire flying weight around 7,2 Kg

Update 10-02-2017

Checking my Cg at 100mm and it's tail heavy....!
I need 1100 gram lead to get CG right.
So that's a bummer, take off wight will increase with 1,1Kg making it 8,4 Kg.

Foto's after test run at home.

Pilots

Tested today my motor again,
After some adjustment I got max Rpm at 6900-7000.
Static trust 7.89 Kg.
Flying weight 8.4 Kg.
This for me is a good reading for enough power to fly this plane.
