Airbot F4 / Flip32 F4 Thread


New thread for Airbot F4 / Flip32 F4.

The Airbot F4 / Flip32 F4 is simple board with STM32F405 MCU and SPI Gyro, it using Revo target from Raceflight and Betaflight

The software and function still under develop. so here is the thread for our users.

When you use the LDO as power source for the board, it is normal that the LDO getting warm or hot, DON'T connect too many deives on the 5V.
One External BEC will be able to reduce the heat of LDO and power more devices.

Question, when hooking up power do I hook up power to J3 VBat GND???
Not much out there. I know I can hook up 5v to the ESC rail but would like to hook up to the battery. Thanks

I think the battery is soldered to VBAT pins and GND. Are both Vbat pins the same ?

I would like to know how to select between Sbus and PPM.
The TX and RX pins with no number what is their uart number ?
Is CRNT current sensor pin ?

You need connect the lipo to VBAT, both VBAT are same.

If you need PPM, then remove R19
If you need SBUS, then remove r20

CRNT is current sensor pin. no more than 3.3v is allowed

You can power the FC by VBAT and ESC 5V, it is the best way,
The LDO won't get hot and if the BEC defect, you have the LDO as spare.

Anybody know where to connect Smartport to? I cant find any documentation of what the uart ports are. I have x4r sb. I have the sbus working so that covers uart1.

It is work but not stable, same for all VCP F4.
The Betaflight team is working on that.
Should be done soon.

there is connector on the top side, you can use it for the receiver, on this version, there is no BIND function

- Sbus is connected to a RX pin of an Uart port.
- SmartPort telemetry goes to a TX pin of another Uart port.
- This Flight controller is VCP type, than means you can use any Uart port, they are not shared with USB.

For example connect S.Port to the pin labeled Tx3 or Tx6, just check that it's not the same uart as sbus ( check continuity using tester of rx3 and rx6 with sbus/ppm board pin) or confirm visually in betaflight that serial receiver is using Uart1 to be sure.

Not sure if is needed a CLI telemetry_inversion command

In order to get Frsky smartport telemetry working on this board it took some digging....

Most F4 boards including this one can not read the inverted Frksy signals.

I pretty much have my board running now - but one thing remains - Has anybody gotten the beeper to work with betaflight ( I'm running RC12, revo target)? I can't seem to figure it out.

Perfect. Worked just as described. Thank you for the info. I remember doing that a long time ago with a naze and d4r. Got it wired into 3tx and changed the port uart3 to smart port. telemetry_inversion not needed. Now its working just like my f3 boards.

Still cant flash escs via board, but i was able to use another board for that. Hopefully passthrough is coming

Hi

Thanks for your post as there is really minimal info on the flip32 f4 (would never had known about removing r20 for sbus). Could you please point out where the uarts are on this board
