I know you have no interst in competition, just pointing out my theory on why they don't seem popular. I think it's only marginal on length and depends on the spinner fitted, A contra Bisisde is definately to long.

Be interested in how the Passion flys.

Will let you know after I fly it. It's a pretty plane sitting on the bench

It seems odd that BJ would design a plane that is so close to the length limit ... I thought I saw someone flying a BiSide in a European Competition.

Can't say I've seen any at the latest Europeans although plenty of biplanes to look at:-

Interesting. Like I said though, I think it is borderline on length so fit the right spinner and you're good to go. Just checked the stats on Bondaeros site and its 1998mm in length, so definately borderline!

OK, it looks as though I'm an outlaw ...

Just measured from edge of rudder to tip of Contra spinner...203.5cm
Which end of the plane do I start cutting ?

Thank you for pointing this out to me...had no idea the plane was so close to the 2m limit to begin with.

I believe within the letter of the law you are ok, (hence I'm still talking to you!!!)

I think there is a tolerance of +/- 5mm so you'd scrape in by the skin of your teeth!

Tolerance of 1% is allowed of size, wight & voltage
So length could be up to 202cm
Here's the appropriate section from the F3A sporting code

Fine.
My dreams of someday competing in the F3A World Championships have been crushed
Nothing left for me to do but fly at my local field, alone at the end of the flight line, ashamed.
