New Product

Realacc Strange Third Hand Six Arm Stan, now with Solder Stand Base Integrated option

UPDATE: Just released - Soldering stand base!
This seems like a very functional base with 5V bec from XT60 bettery and XT60 place holder for easy solder.

Banggood Realacc just released this Hobby Creek 3rd hand copy,
But a bit cheaper and since there is no shipping then its even cheaper.

It has 6 hands and a nice touch of a USB fan to evaporate the soldering fumes

I personally build the same myself with 5$ cooling liquid pipes off of ebay, some aligator clips but in the end an expensive original hobby creek plate....

Though i would have expected it to be cheaper from Banggood it is still worth it

I have this (my DIY version) and, there is no doubt. this is the best soldering investment I've made.

So many times I've wished for a third or fourth restraint feature.

I got the 6 arms for 8$ from ebay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/6X-Round-Noz...wAAOSwPcVVjqA7

Some alligator clips from banggood, and in the end the original plate of the hobbycreek 3rd hand. it cost me more than the Banggood realacc 3rd hand.

But in the end, If the realacc was I available i would have bought it to save the hassle...

sorry if it sound like a super stupid question, but i am new to soldering. from my understanding is we want to keep the smoke away from us right? coz it is poisonous etc, so why do we want to suck the smoke toward us? shouldnt we want to blow it away? or at least if we want it to be sucked away into a vent and gone somewhere else?

That is correct, you can point the fan what ever you want, to blow smoke away from you or suck the smoke in font of you,

From my experience, for the fan to be sucking the smoke it needs to be really close to the smoke source, I have this fake hakko fan to suck the smoke:

(you can see a part of it in my first pic )

Sadly, It is no longer available @BG, it is great but i have to be about 20cm away from it top for it to be effective.

well i guess it make sense now, we just lower it and use to push the smoke side away, away from our face.

It's kinda weird and cool product at the same time.
I just got mine, the arms joint are very powerful.

The little fan works pretty good, especially when its easy to move and placed it any where you want
