Check Your PWM Wire Crimped Properly!

Today I was testing radio equipment on a spare receiver and could not figure out why sometimes the light would go off and on intermittently. The problem was the wire in the plastic housing was not properly crimped to the small wires. The wire goes into a 4 AA battery box that was a knockoff product that I purchased to hold 4 AAs to power the Receiver at 4.8v. I took the wire out of the PWM housing and made sure the contact was good. The knockoff manufacturer crimped tinned wire, that was barely contacting the metal crimper! I don't normally fly with an extra battery to power the receiver, but if I had flown this using that as a receiver back battery The plane would have crashed for sure. If you are buying cheap knockoffs it's just one more thing that you have to check. Major QC problem. This could happen to servos as well. Jiggle everything to make sure you don't have one!
