Can't get loopy

I have been trying to loop my T-52 without success. I dive at full power, pull back on the elevator and it starts to loop, but then it will fall out to the side of the loop as it goes over and goes into spin. Any ideas? Just more practice?
I was in the yard tonight and heard that familar drone of a glow engine. Went down the road and met a guy with a Cub. He was doing some wild acrobatics, we talked and he offered to let me fly his plane. I said thanks but no thanks since I didn't want to destroy his plane! amazing to watch that power.

What's your powertrain?
Is it direct drive or geared?
I can loop mine running a 6V sp400, 2.3:1 GB and 9x6 prop on 8x600AEs.

Mike,

Try less elevator throw. Sometimes, the symptoms you describe are caused by too much throw. Try your loop with less & see what happens. Might not be the cause with a slowflyer, but worth a try.

Mike,
1. Tell us how much the elevator moves up with full up (measured at rear edge of elevtor)? Neutral = 0", full up = ?"

2. With the RX and TX on, is the elevator neutral or pointing up or down?

3. Where is the cg? Does the plane glide well if tossed without power?

4. What motor/prop/gearbox/battery are you using?

Mine will loop from level flight.
