Dhc-2 Beaver

I converted the dumas DHC-2 kit to electric and am quite pleased with the results! The only real mods were to make the wing removable, extend the landing gear for prop clearance, and to enlarge the wing and vertical fin size by aprox 18%.

Beaver

Beautiful job on the Beaver. What did you cover it with? What motor are you using? It really looks fantastic.

Now that you've got a beaver in Harbour Air colours, your gonn have to put floats on it (that's the only way they come up here). Looks beautiful, you've sparked my interest (note to self....)

Does it fly slow and dirty as a beaver should, or a little quicker?

Beaver floats

Thanks for helping me decide. I put floats on a Pico-Tiger Moth. It does fly but lacks much. I was going to try to up the power with the help of the discussion group but your super job on the Dumas Beaver conversion convinced me to try it instead.
I've only hand launched 'cuz it's been too cold to try to chase if ROW is not good -- or worse -- bringing it back is not good.
Floats will handle about 20 oz. with 1/4" of freeboard. They are 14" long -- 2 1/4" wide and 2"high. Made from scraps of blu foam picked from a construction site. They weigh in at about 1.4 oz.
Not very scale like with the wire struts but they help on the landing in grass. A little breeze keeps the Moth from "roaring" in onthe floats. Very touchy in pitch control -- but not surprising -- Iguess. Thanks for posting your craftsmanship and putting me on what should be a better path for ROW.
