Some one asked about plans. Yes, plans could be drawn for this model, but, could you cut out the parts? Give the designer credit. The parts in the kit along with the foam jig are absolutely the best possible. He has designed a negative dihedral wing incorporating twist and all of the various features line up accurately. Try doing that manually, making a pencil drawing and then trying to cut to the line.

OK, I decided to draw up plans that can't be built from but convey the basic outlines and shapes of the model. The rib shown is close but not as accurate as the kit laser version.

A rib is easy to draw.
The trick of the kit is each rib is cut with supporting legs in the correct position in regards to the one degree negative dihedral and the five degrees of twist. Note how each rib is correctly located on the foam form. Also note that the ten mm hole is straight and level through its 4 ribs. Tain't easy to do. Now then, suppose that you make a drawing of each rib per the requirements above and print out those ribs. How thin of a cut line do you need to insure outline accuracy AND then the big question -- Can you cut to the line with your x-acto blade or jig saw? Try cutting the tabs that go into the trailing edge stock. I have done things like this for some of my models. Very time consuming and nit-picky. I use a very fine jig saw blade while wearing magnification lenses with my eyes about three inches from the blade/cut line. No easy. |

Took franz's advice about shortening the fuse a bit.
Lost another 4 grams, and behind the CG as well. 51 grams with towhook/no hatches yet. |

Getting started with first wing panel.

Plan ahead. Get your carbon wing attachments in before the sheeting closes things up. Also make sure that your servo wire can make it through the ribs at the tube /spar joint. Also get the tip connectors built in before sheeting.

While it is still open make up your 4 pin connector with long 3 wires for the aileron/elevator servo and a long enough yellow wire for the spoiler servo. Glue the connector to the wing root with about 10 mm sticking out (inside the body).
Be aware that there may be a clearance problem with the connector and both glass hooks protruding from the wing when you turn the wing over on it's jig mount |

58 grams. Hatches are balsa with magnetic hold downs. |
