Equipment Help

If you are going to fly in the contest please try and arrive a bit early to help with equipment. We cannot drive in to drop stuff off any more so everything has to be carted out. We will not be setting up quite as far back as past contests to shorten the walk a bit.

Pilots meeting is 9 so we are going to be starting to set up by 8:30. Please arrive a bit early to help
Thanks,
-tim

Thirteen intrepid fliers showed up for the July contest. The skies were fairly clear, but there was a breeze blowing which got worse throughout the day. As a matter of fact two fliers felt compelled to with draw because of the wind. There were thermal all day long- I could feel them passing. But by the end of the day trying to follow one down wind would end you up 2 to 3 miles down wind (14 min. task). No one tried. But the conditions raised havoc with the scores. In the first round(5 min), 6 fliers were within 50 pts of max. In the second round(9 min), only 4 fliers got within 100 pts of max. By the third and fourth rounds(12 and 14min), no one got within 100 pts of max. After all the blowing around, the results were:

OPEN EXPERT

2nd Ron Vlasteica
3rd Don McCullough

OPEN SPORTSMAN

2nd Dave Murphy
3rd Richard Trask
