Nice!

I love the F4U. It flies great and it was a lot of fun to build.

If I had to build it again I would do a solid fuse as this one. You can use the formers as templates to cut the sections (see the DH-88 Comet in my blog for details).

I also changed the motor on the F4U recently as it was too slow with the 600kv. It's got a 790kv/800W motor now swinging a 12x8 prop.

I've completed most parts now.
Tail feathers, main wing with ailerons, magnets for cowl and hatch, exhausts.
I'm not going to bother with flaps, though... I keep adding flaps to all my planes and I rarely deploy them. I'm yet to build a plane which actually needs flaps. Even my DH-88 Comet lands just gine without them

For magnets I carve a little cavity with the the dremel, fill it with epoxy and then drop the magnet inside. That way they are flush with the surface and they are kept in place by the glue.

Thanks a lot !

So... i certainly had a problem with my epoxy because i had to use silicon to stick the magnets that holds the wings on my mini glider's fuselage (Arcus 780), but the wings and fuselage are made with EPO and not Styro. That also can explain why the epoxy failed to secure correctly the two magnets.

Have a nice day !

Paint job commenced today.
Using primer for the white stripes, which seems to work a lot better than acrylic paint.
