I get my motorcores from kitchen appliances.
Like this one, from a foodprocessor.

It measures 38mm diameter and a whopping 41mm in thickness.
I haver drilled the center to 12mm so I can fit a bearingtube.

Based on the mass of the teeth I should be able to run up to 1.3 kW on this little baby.

i opened up an old floppy drive and found this motor. it is kinda weird though, it seems as though it is missing 3 stator poles. it is not broken but there are three poles missing for some reason. why is this. how can i use this motor.

Hover dude ....

I have similar stators. At a first look, everything seems OK. On closer inspection, I found the stator teath not all spaced the same around stator. Dont know why they are made like this, but useless I guess?

To get good stators, I suggest you start picking apart kitchen-appliances like food-processors. That's where I find mine.

Like the one here, it should handle over 1000 watts
(38mm diameter, 41mm thick, 12 poles.)

It's a bit of work though. Getting the stator out of the appiance, stripping all the copper off it, bolting down the stator and drilling the center to fit both shaft and bearings and then figure out a way to mount the monster...

KreAture ... are you using those nastly 'damaged' stator blades with the balancing slots machined into them? I tend to discard them.

I haven't used anyone of em yet...
I was considering doing so this time, but haven't decided yet.

That exact stator is just bolted down and drilled so far.
Due to the ammount of mass in the blades where they have been grinded, I was thinking it would be semi-ok. It would get different flux to the mags at those spots, but the mass in the actual coil would be the same. (It's the part of the tooth where the wire actuall goes around that is what decides the max power capability ie saturation point.)
