They just released a La'Forge like Open Source diversity receiver for the price of the regular fatshark Raceband RX 39.99$!!

It seems pretty much the same as the Laforge but is it the same quality? time will tell....

Connect an FTDI to the bottom of the RX5808 and flash with Xloader:

On Xloader, Select:

File - the HEX you just downloaded
COM - COM of your FTDI
Device - Duemilanove/Nano(ATmega328)
Baude rate - 57600
Click upload and wait to finish, yours RX5808 will reboot with the new firmware.

Why would you need this as stand alone? You can buy a boxed and ready regular diversity RX like the FR632.

I actually have the Laforge which cost me more than 100$ (with shipping)
I like the split because depending on the location I can choose which side to locate the directional antenna, depending on where I plan to fly furthest.

If i want to install this on a fatshark attitude, Do I only need to solder it in place of the regular fatshark module ? Is it as simple as solder out the old solder in place the new ?
