Did I make the A Main?

the original drive train on this version is known to be weak, so if you're planning to run brushless on it, then I would consider the BF3... more info here on BFX to include running it on 4S:

Looks like it'll get oil filled shocks and better driveshafts this time, which is a huge improvement!

weird I thought this already had been rereleased a few years ago like the same time as The Frog rerelease.

The old driveshaft were good!, only the lack of mainainance killed them!

The old hex drive dog bones were the weakest part of the truck and the other kits. The new kits all have steel dog bones which will last longer. They should have put them in the original kits.

Nah, they rounded off even with proper maintenance. They only lasted a long time if you didn't drive the truck much, and drove it very gently.

Well no, my frog which I have for 30 years or so is on its 2nd set of axles, and I drove the pants off it! when you use a very thick grease and you make sure the rubber boots are tight on the stubs so no dirt can enter their life is really long, but the frog has smaller wheels as that blackfoot which I never liked

My frog, I drove for years on the second set of hex axles... First set lasted about a month. Second set was from an aftermarket company, and were a plastic polymer of some kind, instead of steel. My Frog ran most of it's life running a Trinity 16t "Gem" motor, and sometimes a 27t Roar "Stock" motor.

Nostalgia makes me want a re-re Blackfoot, but then I think about how much better my modern cars drive, and I would rather spend my hobby $$ on something else...

I also never had an issue with my hex axles, but my Subaru Brat ran most of it's life with the 380 motor.

The Blackfoot was my first REAL rc vehicle too, hence the name "blkft1". I've owned plenty of Blackfeet back in the day. I went the complete Thorp drive also, big money back in then. I always snapped the stock body in half too, then I went lexan (Parma Gravedigger!!!!). My buddy of 28 yrs used to run my Blkft and his Hornet together all thru jr high, high school, and as room mates.
Yeah, this truck been around along time in one form or another. This brings back nostalgia.

If it has the dogbone set up like the rere-Frog it will work. I'd get an adjustable motor mount, smaller pinion(?), and use a mild modified on it. I have a few OLD 12-17T motors laying around.
