Yeah looking forward to it,
thinking of printing the bone structure with space for carbon spars and all.
But still finish it with balsa planking and sheeting. Cause a plastic plane looks kinda cheap ...

but first finish this project, otherwise it will never get finished !

Right wing

Short update on the right wing progression.
Happy it builds a tiny bit faster.

Nifty use of the blocks and rubber bands! Those long jawed clamps look to be a handy piece of kit.

It looks like your managing quite well without a magnetic board. The structure of those wings are quite an artwork!

Both wings are in the same stage now: bottom side planked, top still to be done.

Root sheeting only when the fuselage is ready, so I can make the sheeting flush with the fuselage sheeting.

Ducts both closed now, inner and outer duct fully sheeted and sanded.

Tested the EDFs once more: looking good, each pulls easily 60Amps at 6cell, good for about 2kg thrust each.

I believe this will increase a bit or a lot (?) once I sanded the inlet lip.
But for this I need to finish the sheeting of the wings first.

Looks like you've got another winner on your hands.Have you worked out the projected final weight?

Hi Stu, I did an estimate and it would end up at about 3400gr ..

Of which 1000gr is battery
380gr are 2 engines and 2 EDFs
210 gr for the 2 ESC's
and about 100gr nose lead

The CG location is designed as I finally did for the FZ5, so the fuselage is counted for.
Nevertheless, I do not know what the effect will be of the nacelles.
I'll try a mockup on the prototype and glue a bulge on top of the wings, to check their effect on lift and CG ..

I do not think you will have any issues as far as thrust. I wouldn't be overly concerned with your static thrust measurements, I suspect the thrust will be much higher when your airborne.
I do not think the nacelles will cause any noticeable shift in cog or the center of lift.

After a lot of preparations, the third sheet (of 8!) got glue today

First the LE was glued in place.
I use a kind of a frame to prevent the wing from warping when the sheeting is glued.
