I didn't know about the glove glow starter for racing in the C/L video.

Hot glove, and quick fill pressurized filler or bulb. The team racers have some pretty fancy quick fills now, and even then, where the overflow would prime at the same time. I recognized at least one face there. John Ballard. I was a kid then, but flew Goodyear.

Wow ! Thank you soo much for sharing this. The last time I saw one of these films - it was a film.

The combat segments brought back memories of the most fun I've had in over fifty years of model aviation.

There was at least one other film I used to bring to club meeting; "A Plane a Place and a Perfect Day". I wonder if that one's been captured somewhere.

Judging from the transmitters and cars, it looks more like the 1970s to me. No 40%ers then. Like the old guys smoking pipes. It was really cool then.

Yikes! The kid at 1:54 does not have his antenna extended! I have done that more than once. Also, flew on orange and white with a Kraft radio when my brother shot my Contender down testing his Falcon 56 on the ground while on the same frequency.

Thanks for posting a great video!

Edit...oh, he has a trainer cord...Dummy!
