NANO I - TD .010

4 pitched prop
NANO - TD .010 / 130.4 MPH - Best Pass Per Doppler (4 min 50 sec)

18" span 45 sq. in wing. 3oz RTF.

3 pitched prop
NANO TD .010 / 2.7 x 3N Speed Prop / 115.74 mph best pass (4 min 34 sec)

Nano I has been upgraded to a TD .020

I will have some vids of this after winter. All up weight less fuel 3.38oz
the lowest weight TD .020 2ch plane I know of. I expect speeds beyond
imagination with the right prop. My guess 3.3 x 4.5N / 155+ down wind dives.
18" span 45 sq. in wing. 3.38oz RTF with the TD .020

OK, here are some of mine. It is amazing how long they last when you don't fly them. There is a delta pylon one with a .25, but the fastest guys used .15s. The ,21 profile proto is for a .21, but I have a Rossi .15 in right now, and the TD delta was a gift as it did not have enough up to stay in the air with monoline at the time. Maybe 1980? I will get some other pics that were just at theNats, not mine.

Couple more, I have a few other .29 size pics from the Nats, but they don't count I guess. The cute ones are Perky Speed. .15 size with a 1950s design. They can go over 100 mph, but the average speed is the way to win.

Nice eye candy Alan!

Yessa for two strokes the madness must be curbed at .15's. The small 4cyl engines floating around put out similar power of a good 15
and can be shared in the thread to represent. I have owned the OS .20 4cyl it can swing a 7x6 fairly fast. They need good amount of
pitch to get any speed out of them. Today I own the 26 Surpass and Saito 30. 7x7 / perhaps 8x8 for speed.

DART -TD .09

11.67oz covered less 3 nylon horns and two short pieces of piano wire
for the ailerons. Custom cut 5x6N prop good for 130mph +
Will go with neon pink for the DART logo and # 9 race number
Full sheet shrink film holds the ailerons and elevator in place, very hard
to see the ailerons lol..the underside thus far is solid neon pink, neon
blue fuselage. 4x2.75x31.5' / 106.31 Sq. In. wing.

Performance enhancements:

- High speed performance crank
- Valentine Turbo Plug Head / OS Turbo Plug
- Kustom Kraftsmans 128 tpi NV
- KK big bore venturi
- Throttle sleeve - cut for SPI
- SPI Cylinder - dual bypass ports (not the RC version)
- Valentine .049 bullet spinner tapped 6-32 thread
- KK .09 back plate with fine hole pressure tap.
- Aluminum carb body
- Phenolic thrust washer (for elect. starts)

I found a few more pics in my files that kind of fit in with your rules. The Sig Scamp is not super fast but was used for club pylon racing when it was popular. The Wild Thing is kind of fast, and the low wing .049 plane I have no idea what it even is but it looks fast.

Nice planes Alan, I do like the blue and orange one for sure they move and groove with some speed. Thank you for sharing!!

Done ready to maiden flight the DART- TD .09 this weekend with a MA 5.5 x 4.5

Throttle sleeve opened 1/2 way to help suppress some noise:

More testing 18.9k / 5.5x4.5 / needle is not there but its results..
.2hp / 149.2w / 81mph / 15.3oz thrust engine is loud loud loud
Test had to happen fast with no needle tweaking just got it
whaling along then shut it down. Stock prop was causing some
vibrations going to need to balance it before moving forward.

The pressure started overwhelming things as the throttle went
down the pressure did not .. so no pressure for RC its full bore
or nada with that back plate. Removing. A full fuel tank brought
the plane weight to 13.59oz. So tank holds 1.69oz of fuel.

2nd try no pressure half open throttle sleeve
Cut MA 5x6N / 17.6k / 101 mph / 9.3oz thrust speed prop
was already balanced ran smooth. Idle was good
will test fly next. CG is good with a full tank the
oil spray is acceptable although twice as much
as a .049.

Stock APC 5.25x6.25E / 18k / 107mph / 11.4oz thrust / 149w
Should do 22k down wind 130 mph

Completed weight ready for fuel 11.9oz.

A light weight version could be done without the ply fuselage but I wanted mine to last.
I think its possible to hit 10.5 oz. RTF with all balsa build up.

DART -TD .09 / APC 5.25x6.25E / 143 mph best pass (3 min 26 sec)

Published on Jul 2, 2016

Best pass level 143mph / per prop calc
Temp 96F (16,975 rpm at launch) 30% nitro

Wavescope: 232.07 kmh / 144.2mph / going down wind gave it an edge.
The reading was taken at 1.52mins into the vid.

Out of all the TD .09 speed plane vids online there is nothing even gets close to it thanks to modern gear / props and 106sq. in wing.
