Show your Laines Planes 'Cuda!

A nice little spot to share pictures, videos and power systems for your 26", 35" 'Cudas and the Para-Cuda!

Mine are powered by the HET Typhoon 4W inrunner, Castle Creations Phoenix Edge Lite 50 ESC, APC 5.25x6.25 prop and Potenza 4S 2650s.

Speeds are 125-130 according to radar and doppler.

Lets see what you guys have done!

Laine.

A little video of Karls Cuda "2nd flight". This one was built on site at an event. Courtesy of Rumbuilder.

Again, courtesy of Rumbuilder.com here is another Laines Planes video. This is at the noon time demo at SEFF 2016. Joel D. and Nick K. are flying a 35" and 26" Cuda.

Yes, that is none other than mighty Jason Cole launching the Para-Cuda.

Mine is still safely packed in a cardboard box, but I'm going to start assembly shortly.

What motor would you recommend for someone who is looking for a slightly less hair-raising experience (and doesn't have the largest flying field - 90mph would be out of sight behind the tree line in seconds).

Thanks!

About a 1800-2200 kv outrunner or inrunner on 3S with a 6x4 prop should spot on for you RockyBoy.

That's, shes ready to go now. The flag is finished and I had to go out specially to buy an imperial hex key to tighten the wings in. Everything else I have is metric lol

My Cuda, Kit #23

Well it's not complete, yet..... But it is off to a good start. Unfortunately I will be traveling for work this week so I probably will not be able to touch it again until next weekend (if I'm lucky). Anyway the power source is going to be the motor and esc from my Stryker that had suffered a mid-air at the SIG flyin with a Cub last week. I'm including pics of my build and the "donor" plane. More build pics to follow... Enjoy....

What style of elevon hinge is everyone using for the Cuda?

Have bendy plastic ones, plastic with a metal hinge pin and CA style. Also have the 3M packing tape used on Ritewings. Can't decide which to go with, am more used to foamy models.

Hey ukpaul. Yours must be the other one in the uk! Does this mean that mine flew first?!?

I'm using CA hinges on mine, flies perfectly.

Might change plans now and put a number one on the tail instead of the 2 I had planned
