Careful!

Real WWII warbird to be crashed in making of "Dunkirk" ?

If true, this is sad;

http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment...tcmp=obnetwork

"According to a reported rumor on Indie Revolver, “A source tells me that Warner Brothers recently signed a five million dollar check to purchase a vintage WW2 aircraft, (possibly a German Luftwafee) which will be outfitted with IMAX cameras to be used in what are sure to be some impressive sequences in the film. And when they’re done, they are going to crash it.”"

Of course it isn't true. Consider the source. More Fox nonsense.

They deliberately crash landed a B-17 while filming a war movie, you know.

50 years ago when the plane was probably more valuable as scrap. do you think anyone would purposely crash an airworthy B-17 today?

haven't read the article but most likely a replica will be used.

Well any article that refers to a particular aircraft as a Luftwafee( not a type of aircraft and not the correct spelling of Luftwaffe).....

Yeah, 'cause Fox makes up news Here's their source: https://indierevolver.com/2016/06/06...olan-to-crash/

It's a rumor, thus the ? at the end of the article title.

Sad? Really? Wonder what that kind of picture meant to returning GI's?

Context is everything. Modern values arbitrarily applied to a single historical context may be understandable, but will ultimately prove useless.

If they hadn't melted down all those WWII aircraft, would we even have have an appreciation for their relative rarity today??

BTW- note 1st aircraft, of first row is P-40M or N, with rudder repositioned aft. Very next aircraft i s earlier P-40 E showing original rudder location.

I seriously doubt it's a real aircraft, but I'll wager that Nolen has a nice BIG model of an HE-111 that will be used.

And the liberals keep posting their mollycoddling on threads. Yea, look it up....
