started buliding the deck houses.had to mak some parts due to damaged wood.

thats a hatch cover i made to replace the broke one its mahogany covered in epoxy.its a shame it will be painted .

i can not belive that some the wood in this kit is so bad .i started to fit the bullworks and 1 broke twice from age and drying out. so i made them out of 1/8 magh plywood.rough fit but what do you think .and there not 2 peice.

Mahog ply looks like it will do just fine

These are the sample planks done by my cabinet making friend. They are done in maple...he is going to try it on teak now, hopefully with no issues as it is an even harder species of wood.

Dip strips in alcohol, that may help with the brittleness. I do that to the strips from old kits and wrap it around tubing to make sail hoops. The alcohol evaporates pretty quickly, as opposed to soaking them in water.

started fitting the rudder .

One thing my father did on his Emma was craft an extended rudder. I've seen others choose to do this for more commanding control while under sail.
