Scroll down to the bottom, make a comment and leave your name and email address. It's that easy. We need 50 people to do that for the Drone-Pak to go into production. Go do it now...

If you haven't seen the ChairPak, you can check it out here. It's a lightweight backpack that folds out into a chair. RCGroups user TwansFPV teamed up with the inventor of the chair to create a cool insert concept that is designed for drones. It will hold your quad, goggles, transmitter, batteries, and other gear.

It's called the FPV Drone Pak and it is a removable insert for the chair that features a zip closure, carry handle, padding, dividers, and more. You can fit up to a 300mm size quad with 6" props as well as your other gear. There is an attachable mini table so you can work on your quad at the field. The best part is that it all folds up into a backpack meaning you can carry all your gear on your back without having to make extra trips to get your chair and other items. The chair also has add-on's for a sunshade and a solar charger. The chair is cool on its own for $99 and the FPV Drone Pak is a great add-on at $59, but the Drone Pak is just a concept at the moment. They need your help to get it made. All you have to do is show your interest. If they get 50 people to submit their email and say it's a good idea then the Drone Pak add on will get made. You have no obligation to purchase anything, but if you are looking for a cool new chair and FPV backpack, then this is an awesome way to go. TwansFPV has provided a coupon code TWANSFPV10 to save 10% off your order so kudos to him for that.

Check out the FPV Drone Pak add-on here.

Nice! Dual purpose, too. Quad racing, and handy for Nall and similar events..you have a chair, and a place to carry your beverages, camera, etc as you roam the lines.

A QAV-R Setup Just to Show Some Variety

I just wanted to show you guys how this pack might look with a QAV-R in it, in case anyone was curious.

The supports and partitions are extremely customizable, with fitting anything you might want to put in it being a priority, and soon to be even more so. Little details are still being polished daily to make the end product absolutely perfect by the time we (hopefully) meet the magic number of 50. Please spread the word and help us to get to that magic number.

A HUGE thank you to each and EVERY one of you that goes to the link in the description and says that you'd like for this to go into production.

This is genius me wants... and needs bad..

OH booo I went to buy it and it's not avail yet

That chair is very cool but I want to make sure they will do the inserts first before buying.

The other cool feature about the plastic piece in the bag is I can rip it out, place it on the ground and us it as a take off in grassy fields.

Well I gave it 5 stars and submitted it so I hope we can see it before summer is up.

Glad you like it.

Yeah I completely understand. I know others in the same boat (waiting on the insert to become available before purchasing the Chairpak itself). Thanks so much for doing your part to make it happen! If you know anyone else that might be down for one tell them to cast their vote too. 50 really isn't that many if folks take a second to speak up so fingers crossed.

I promise you after having gotten to know these guys, once they've decided that the interest in the insert is viable, they'll be really fast in getting this done and out to everyone. I've literally mentioned that something needed to be tweaked and had a re-fabricated prototype on it's way to me the next morning. They love making stuff and don't mess around.

PS - I love the idea of using the tabletop surface as a field mat. It Velcros right off. Probably easier to take off from though than to land on (with my skills at least).

Yeah that was the first thing I thought of was.. a place to take off from! Grass is getting taller so landing is just a controlled crash anyway...

Any I want this and need this. Tired of packing 2 packs and a chair..

I love this idea but I think I would be changing the layout a bit. I prefer to mount my quads to the outside and keep my radio protected in the padded area much like the microraptor.

Also, $150 seems expensive for the package. I love the idea though. I may order the bag for $100 and cut my own foam insert.

Edit**

Looks like shipping will cost me $43!! No thanks. Love the idea and want the chair pack but not that bad.

Great idea, cost as said by smillar is a issue for me as well. But I do like the idea and feel that others would be able to afford it and put it to great use! I voted anyways...

Thanks for the vote and the feedback guys as we really appreciate it. Les is now working on a strap/release system for the outside back of the pack to mount a secondary backup quad. So one inside AND one outside. I always carry two just in case I knock one out of commission. So this would give you even more options and various ways to carry.

Please keep in mind that the price is not definite yet. The Chairpak currently costs $99. The Drone insert's expected MSRP is $59 (which might be reduced). And shipping is approx $18. I don't think shipping would be $43 as the insert would probably just be placed into the pack and the whole thing at once. Then my 'TwansFPV10' promo code would get you 10% off the entire order.

I'm certainly not a marketing specialist. But I've seen lots of other packs without a chair, repair table, or outside secondary drone mount, with much less hardware & thought put into their designs, go for $179-225+. For me, when I think of all the thousands that I've spent on drones and tools etc, another $150 for a total transport system that is also comfortable all day in the field isn't too bad. $500+ for Fatshark goggles was a hard pill for me to swallow but this not as much. I think if you saw it and played with it you'd appreciate how much has gone into it and how well it's made. I certainly understand that it might not be for everyone though. I hope you'll keep following our progress and maybe reconsider at some point.

Thanks again.

Completely agree with the price cost being where it is, 150 to pack your entire gear set seems reasonable. The velcro allowing for different layouts is always nice, you should add a fold down backrest for when you sit on it!
