Eleven Hobby T-28 Trojan 1100mm 43" PNP

This is my unboxing and review for the brand new 1100mm Eleven Hobby T-28 Trojan RC Warbird.

Unboxing and Review Only - 1100mm Eleven Hobby T-28 Trojan RC Warbird (17 min 50 sec)

This is the Maiden Flight:

Maiden Flight Only - 1100mm Eleven Hobby T-28 Trojan RC Warbird (3 min 17 sec)

Here are my review notes:

Pros
  • Vibrant red and black color scheme
  • Scale details all over the plane, including three bladed prop
  • Lightweight yet very smooth and strong foam
  • Flaps and retracts installed
  • Rubber tires
  • Quick build time
  • Smart nose wheel design
  • Great wind handling
  • Robust horizontal stablizer with scale air foil
Cons
  • The canopy doesn't have much vertical clearance and does not fit super snug. However, it survived plenty of rolls and loops just fine during its maiden flights
  • Flap servo travel was limited. I probably need to break in the foam hinge in more to fix that.

This is what Eleven Hobbies says about it:

"The North American Aviation T-28 Trojan is a piston-engined military trainer aircraft used by the United States Air Force and United States Navy beginning in the 1950s. Besides its use as a trainer, the T-28 was successfully employed as a counter-insurgency aircraft, primarily during the Vietnam War.

Eleven Hobby is honored to present the new T-28 Trojan. There are numerous T-28 in the current market. This T-28 might be the most controllable T-28. It is a mutual work of three national and foreign engineers. In the past nine months, who have unceasingly tested and corrected every aspect of the plane. This T-28 would be overwhelmingly outstanding in your hangar. You could operate stably without gyroscope and land confidently without flap. As long as you are familiar with the remote control, you could fly this terrific T-28.

There are enough T-28s out there in this exact same color scheme. It's kinda' been beaten to death.

A T-34 would've been awesome.

I am thinking as a back-up for my aging Parkzone T-28 only this one has retracts. I would love a T-34 too though!

T-34's kind of that missing post-war trainer at this point.

We've got tons of T-28s, we've got a really nice Yak-52, a really nice CJ-6...

And yet the T-34 is oddly missing except for a tiny representation of the turboprop variant.

It looks exceptionally well done, though, and I'm curious about the new EPO composition myself, but the subject could've been something more outstanding.

The foam is what caught my attention too and I honestly thought of you when I read that. I don't think anyone hates Z-Foam as much as you lol
