FMS F3A EXplorer - 1020mm


Hey guys, i just got my FMS F3A EXPLORER yesterday. I got lots of aerobatic planes and some profile planks but this one is something of first i got from FMS for F3A format. I'm currently try to assemble it and trying to sort out what lipo to use and how much throw endpoint and EPA on the servo. I love the new ball link r/c car style linkages to the control surface.

Btw i got my plane at: Gearbest.com FMS F3A Explorer

Surprise it comes with warranty card from them.
Anyone like to share their setup especially on servo throw/epa and how does it handle. Btw i fly 3D, i wonder how F3A feels like. Trying to maiden it in next two days. Manual says 2200mah 3s 35C lipo but when i google some says 1800 while other says 2250?.

Just completed assemble the Explorer, took me about 30 minutes but yet to install the receiver. The only part that need glue are the vortex generator fins located before the wing tip. She looks awesome:

At 95mm CG from front leading edge with 2200mah 3s 35c lipo as recomended by manual its still tail heavy. Checking on google some say at 110mm but still had an issues. Anyone knows which CG works well on this plane?

Hohoho!! maidened it! feels great, just 3 clicks up elevator trim it flies like on rails. Awesome! She is extremely docile too, nice and smooth aerobatics.

Here the screenshots, will post the video soon.
The CG was as described on manual with 2200mah 3s 35 spot on.
I love this plane. (Previously i did hate it...lol)

Congrats. If you are willing to go 6S its bigger counterpart flies even more awesome.

Thanks, but i'm not sure why i should go for 6s because on 3s it looks good enough to do smooth and docile maneuvers. 2200mah 3s 35 was the best fit. 2x serial into 6s config seems impossible for this plane unless its 2x 1300mah 3s serial.

LOL, I wondered later if I was that clear by using the word "counterpart" instead of "Olympus". Being larger the same design Olympus handles wind better and just feels like a pattern plane. I've owned both. Please don't double the batteries on your Explorer cuz I said so.

Great video on Olympus, the big size looks like nicer to fly and seems more fun and better visibility due to size when doing all those moves. Yes you're right double battery double trouble. I'll stick to 3s first. Might be 1 pcs 4s if curious. Thanks.

Anyone tried on this plane with stock 4s lipo? After days of flying i think i need more ummphh! speed.

My explorer runs on 4s 1800 can fly the full masters sequence, but I replaced the motor and ESC to a CC50lite and an omega motor also
upgraded the landing gear to carbon, The wire gear drove me nuts on landing.

So you meant that on stock setup its doesn't run well on 4S then which required an upgrade to motor and ESC? Else might thinking upgrade the prop to MAS 3x blade for extra torque first.
