Yeah THAT'LL WORK.

NOTE I have not adjusted the Tabs and Slots on the new layout yet.

Also you might want to look at some strengthening aspects of the design
like CF or balsa here and there.

That looks great Bob.

I'm not familiar with the "MPF" type of foam?

Similar to Depron? Still white in color?

What glues work well on it?

Just like depron IMHO !

It's made by Adams in SE Michigan and is WHITE and ~ 6mm thick 48" x 24"

It's a little more flexible and works great for Bendy bits .
I use it Just Like Depron .
Some guys prefer it others have some silly reservations , again IMHO.

Re glues
I like Bob Smith Foam cure and Gorilla quick set and Delux Foam2foam.
Gotta be carefull with Gorilla as it tends to "over expand" when curing but it
is great for laminations as it sets in absence of air if you moisten the surfaces lightly.

Adams, I am told, actually makes a lot of the expanded foams for a lot of other
folks.

Go read about it on RCGROUPS Scratch Built forum.

and here ...

Depron is becoming weird and I have expressed my opinion about what is happening with European made products here ...

Are you planning on adding ailerons or staying 3 channel?

Since the wing is built up , you could add ailerons to either or Both !

This IS THE Scratch Builder forum, is it not ?

Just cut them loose, hinge them with Blenderm and connect them together
with CF and some heatshrink tubing !

I did add ailerons to mine (top wing only), and they work well. The only problem I found is that with no outer wing struts the top wing will rock on the saddle...I learned this on my first barrel roll as I watched the top and bottom wingtips kiss mid-roll.

Adding outer wing struts, or even an easier suggestion would be a horizontal brace across the wing saddle under the top wing. Although if ailerons were added to both wings I think that would also eliminate the problem. I believe the fact that the top wing was trying to "drag" the bottom wing over with it caused the rocking. I had four rubber bands on each wing, which should have been sufficient

I mounted a 20" strip of wood, much like a piece of yardstick, horizontally across the wing saddle and that seems to have cured the issue for me. The top wing just sits on it when attached.

Will you make your drawing of the Schoolgirl available too? The jpeg doesn't look suitable for enlarging.

I can make a PDF of the last drawing.

Who wants to build the 1st one ?
I'm never sure about the absolute fit of Tabs and Slots,
although they should be very close.

I will cut what you see above and let YOU have it for cost.
That's shipping plus foam.

Then you can check the fit and cut your ailerons OUT OF the wings
at whatever size you want.
You can also put what ever wing spars or strengthening in that you choose.

There is plenty of scrap foam in the sheeting to do pretty much what ever you want.

If I ever crash mine I would be interested in purchasing one, I really do like my larger span of 45". I wonder what the difference in weight will be between MPF and DTFB, one thing nice is the MPF can handle water where the DTFB will peel (main reason I covered mine, which has proved to be a great since my model still shows no wear or fatigue).

Sammy70 hopefully I didn't come off as being rude by pointing you back to my post about ailerons, I just wanted to make sure it was noted before you started to build.
