Climax Models Vamoose!

I'm finally done my Beta build of this fantastic model. Let me just say, this is truly my second all balsa & covering build, and believe me....it was VERY easy.

David at http://www.cl-i-max.com/ has another winner on his hands. Everything fits tight and neat, no real problems, and she looks GREAT!!!!!

Well, I'll let you judge for yourselves.

Now, mine isn't up to her full beauty, but let me just add this is my second covering job, so not everything on her is perfect.

I also installed the Curtek Lighting System on the Vamoose, and she really lights up. I'll try to post some of those pictures later when it gets a little darker outside. We'll see if we can't just snag some video.

I'll be powering Climax's Vamoose with an Axi 2212/34 Castle Creations Phoenix 25 and right now a 3s1p 1200 mah Lipo. I'm just waiting for my order of Tanic Packs to come in, because I REALLY want to slip the 2500 mah pack in her.

The Vamoose requires 4 servos, and I have Pico BB's in her as well as a couple of Blue Birds for the Ailerons.

The pushrods are re-enforced with carbon rod, to stop some flex. I don't have an AUW yet (going to buy a digital scale tomorrow).

The beta kit didn't come with any canopy, so I'm HOPING that David will mould one soon to hide those awful wires.

I also installed a micro steerable tail wheel from www.lighterRC.com , will help with control on the ground.

Hopefully I'll get to maiden her in the next couple of days with decreased throws. We have lightning storms and heavy smoke cover from the forest fires around here, so we'll see how it goes.

I'm looking forward to the big Chilliwack report as well..still waiting for him to finish it up. He's been really really busy..but yes...he'll be there.

And the way things are going, you'll see the maiden flight of the Vamoose then as well..damn wind.

FYI - I had one of those wheel assemblies on my swichback and the wire busted through the axle after a while. I think they are nice assemblies but it would be wise to reinforce the axle tube somehow.

Good to know LT, I'm carrying them, so I'll have to watch that issue. Thank you VERY much for that feedback.

David,

Was going to try to get pictures tonight, but as I was writing this, I got called into work AGAIN.

Not happy.

I'll see what I can do, it's a bit overcast now, so before I head in after taking the wife to town for a doctors appointment, I'll see if it's cloudy enough for the lights to show up well.

Great looking plane. You could make a temporary canopy (enclosure) using some Transparency film. Try to find someone to give you a sheet. If not, use a platic drink bottle. A little imagination and a pattern done with a sheet of paper and you could at least have a covering. Small amount of tape would hold it down. This is basically what the original Tantrum had for a canopy. Actually, you could build a balsa frame to mount it on and you have a canopy. Wouldn't look the best, but would at least cover it.

Again, nice job.
