Acro-Wot Mk2 XL with DLE- 35RA
Just putting a DLE-35RA into an Acro-Wot XL and noted that the distance quoted from the firewall to the spinner plate is 175mm.
First petrol engine... so all new experience. Looking at the DLE drawings I think it is only 160mm with the standoffs that are provided.. Anybody have experience of fitting this engine and plane? Any advice where to get longer standoffs if I should need them? Any advice appreciated. |

I've got an NGH GF38 in mine which flies it nicely but is a bit heavy, meaning I had to mount the radio and batteries well back. You shouldn't have that issue as I believe that the DLE will be a fair bit lighter. I have at times bought different sized standoffs from e-bay and from Kings Lynne Models in the UK. Both sources came up with decent quality items though the e-bay ones were cheaper.

Cheers for the reply.... I'll check the fitting and then use KL if I need different standoffs...

That works too if it's only 15mm extra needed - a layer of 1/2" one of 1/8", just be sure to use birch ply, not liteply. I usually put large diameter penny washers between the standoffs and the wooden bulkhead/ply spacers to spread the load.
