Hi Geezah,

Nothing secret :
1 - always use sharp blades to cut foam (and change them as soon as you can see that the cut is not clean / sharp)
2 - NEVER cut foam on something that have a hard surface (use cutting mats)

Enjoy ;-)

There was some nice footage of Cl-415s (probably 415s , and not 215s) in action today during the coverage of the Tour de France. There was a good sized brush fire they were working to put out or control. Looked like four of the in the air. Pretty neat.

Nice footage for sure for us - aviation enthusiasts.
But on the other hand, not so nice for us people of south of France because it means that there is a fire somewhere that is destroying forest or homes.

The actual French CL-415 "nest" is located less than 100 Km from my home and in some monthes they may leave Marseille/Provence airport to reach their new "nest" at Nīmes / Garon airport that is 15Km from my house so... i see them more and more often flying over my head and i admit that's always a pleasure to see them if there is no smoke.

Nice to see that the Tour de France is watched on the the Us Tv too :-)

I hope to be able to work a bit on my bird this week-end.

Stay tuned ;-)

Finally, I have not had as much free time as I was thinking, but I've been able to work a few hours on 415 anyway.

* The cockpit received a coat of grey paint

* The rudder rejoined the fuselage and is now stuck.

* i added a 0.8 x 3mm carbon spar into the horizontal stabilizer.

* The instrument pannel is near to be finished and is ready to receive the last coat of paints (cockpit grey on the sides and black ont the top)

* I started to build and carve from depron one of the two CL-415 pilots.
It's the first time i try to carve such a small pilot (the okane is 1:32 scale).
It's a pretty long work and It's more difficult than to carve bigger ones from styro because of the small size of the parts and also because of the depron's softness, but i have good hope

Have a nice day !

Muchas gracias Rajazo !

I don't know if i am an artist or not (i don't think to be), i was just thinking that it was impossible to let that plane's cockpit empty

This week i built the pilot and co-pilot seats, added some details on both the crew members (painted the zipper on the flight suits, added the dark blue ID patch on their chest and the seat belts.

I hope to find a little time to work a bit more on the plane this week-end

Yesterday i could not resist to make a blank assembly.
I'm pretty happy with the results but i still don't know if i will choose the "long wing" option or not...

Well... Finally the 415 will be fitted with the "Long wing".

After all, decreasing the wing loading could help to fly better in weak conditions, if needed.

I'm currently working on creating some reinforcements of the fuselage/wing junction area.

Cheers !
