Jet Design Contest-Mig 25 Foxbat

Hi all,
I am currently designing in Deltacad a mostly scale Mig-25 Foxbat for the jet contest.
Material: 5mm thick foam (similar to the GWS Warbird stuff)
Power: 2 EDF-64 300H
Weight: Hopefully about 500grams (I can dream )
Wingspan: 30in
Batteries: Something that can take about 15amps
Controls: Ail, Elev

Frenche,

Look at the Apogee 1660mAh Lipo. They give 18A and only weigh 120g. I have had huge success with them.

Darrell- Thanks I will look into them as the only ones that I have right now are 2s etech 1200s, 6cell Panasonic 3000 sub c (from my car racing days) and 7cell AAA 700mah nimh which get hot at 5amps!

Ado- Thanks for the complement and good luck

I should finish the design in a couple of days and it will be a very quick build as it is just a box with wings and a cockpit stuck on the front.

Ado- Sorry my bad but it is very generous of you to donate money to a worthy cause. Yep it is good that more of 'us' have found the forum, I stumbled on it by accident whilst doing research for an english project and have been hooked ever since (I got an A+ for that project to so smiles all round ).
Anyway got to get back to designing so cya later

Well after reviewing the GWS EDF64 I am less than impressed with the thrust figures. I thought about puttin a couple of Himaxxs in 'em but apparantly they cannot take much more power than the already have so I am lokking at the Wattage powerfan (360 grams of thrust from 12volts at 11amps). Two of these running from a Tanicpac 3s 2150 (which is good for 25amps) should give me a pretty good setup as the whole power train would weigh only 363grams. Provided I can keep the weight of the airframe low then it could be a good perfomer.
I have also decided on a colour scheme. (yeh I know that it is not from a Mig but it is one of my favourites and it looks alot better than just plain grey)
