Dunno, but the 509G had some bugs with the barometer control - some people reported they couldn't get it to come down !
So, hopefully they fixed that at least...

I contacted to the manifacturer indirectly and this is the reply i received:

"Not much difference in performance, but look different from model."

One obvious difference I see is the 800mah battery supplied vs the 600 for the 509G. I just bought a pair of 850s for my 509G and they fit in easily. I just got it yesterday and flew it on the charge as it arrived. Everything worked perfectly. I have flown many different rc models, this is by far the most stable and easy to fly I've ever used

Getting it to come down is as easy as holding the left stick down and then inputting directional control and fly it down, as opposed to only holding the left stick down.

How long did the flight last with 850? What were on/off?

The JXD 509 and now the 510 are nice stable, responsive flying machines. With a little software tweaking on the autolanding feature, a stiffer/reinforced frame to eliminate video jello and perhaps a remotely controlled tilt camera gimbal they would have a real winner. I personally like the no fly away feature where the unit will autoland on LOS and low battery. They could skip the flip button and replace it with a linear tilt control for the gimbal. I'm hoping JXD reads these fourms.

You want to know the big difference ? It is the first ever toy grade FPV quadcopter to support acro mode, i am not sure but it is written on this image "3D full-flight" ( http://hobbywow.com/desc/JXD/JD100/JD100_6.jpg ) and 3D is the second name for acro mode.

So it is by far the best quadcopter to learn fpv racing/freestyle in the market. It also have propeller guards, overall it seems more resistant to crashes and the look is much more agressive. Also the battery was a 800 mAh for the 509G now it's a 600 mAh for the same flight time.

A better link to buy it: 78 euros on gearbest http://www.gearbest.com/rc-quadcopters/pp_345149.html
And 5 batteries + multi charger for 13 euros http://www.gearbest.com/rc-quadcopte...pp_279073.html

The 510? Does it also have wide enough FoV for the camera? Most cheap FPV quads drop the ball there. Pretty hard to learn FPV with only 70 degrees vision.

I think it's only a 70 degrees angle and you can't orient the camera, we will have to wait. But currently it win in a lot of category:
_cheapest FPV quad, by adding 5 extra batteries it cost under 90 euros
_ first toy with both FPV and acro mode
_ ultra durable each arm is attached to each other + propeller guards + foots making it a must for beginners and discover acro flight (you won't need a lot of extra propellers with the guards and breaking an arm is almost impossible even at full speed)
_ it is the most aggressive looks i have seen, cool radiocommand and neat analog in metal considering the price
_ LED bulb lights making them visible even when it is sunny and far at night
_ popular and very cheap batteries
_ the throttle goes back to center, every quad should do that it's way better than the altitude hold
_ magnetic motors more energy efficient and durable it's similar to a brushless motor that is why it can fly 10 minutes with 600 mAh.
_ 360 degree eversion

I have a coupon for the JXD 510G with altitude hold. It's just under 80$ (79.9) with free shipping from GearBest. Just use the code: JR10G
