Military drone Clone Update (08/04/2016)

I have a Syringe. I had the same idea, but not sure its needed.
Here is the second test pour, while not perfect it is usable and I learned what to do differently from this attempt so the next well be even better.

Back Cover

Setup the mold for the rear cover today. Cast my first test cast. Looks good have a proper casting in the mould now, will sand and paint tomorrow. Give you an idea of the ball with the covers all on.

Little testing of what its going to take to balance the ball. I need to add 26 grams however thats not taking into account the missing Runcam Owl that still needs to be installed.

I read back through the thread to refresh myself on your optics. I see that you are using the 10x camera from Surveilzone. You also mention an IR designater and a Runcam Owl. Could you elaborate a little on what your optics plans are and how they will work?

And again this is an amazing project!

Yes the 10x zoom from Surveilzone.
Runcam owl for night vision.
780nm IR laser for laser designation. Now this I added simply because I could, basically i was copying roughly anyway what a military version would do. Also a buddy is taking my drawings and seeing if he can convert it to a 3d print model for me. I have run into a problem where the motor doesn't appear to be in the unit square and so the pivot is wrong and so i need to focus on that. It looks pretty cool right now however. If I can get this pivot issue resolved it will be very cool

glad your enjoying the project. I am as well.
I thought i had met a show stopper last night, the ball seem to be pivoting off center. But today i was able to determine it was the bearing and adjusted its position and now its pivoting better. phew.
I might need to remake the mould. Not sure yet.

We shall see
