Military Drone Clone 09-20-2019
Wired up the flight controller today.
I need to go through the connections again to make sure I have them all correct. Then on to the next set of connections. Safety switch, USB, External LED and so on. |

Did you make it using the same molds add the first iterations?

Made a second attempt at the Fiberglas canopy.
My preference would be to Vacuum form them, but I don' t have the equipment to do it. But hey there not to bad. |

Got the Gimbal mounted this week.
All functions are working. The build is so nice and clean.

So.. can you show your lidar location? I think I have one somewhere, and I might as well flop it on there. What are the advantages of this anyhow? More stable low altitude hovering? Up to what altitude? Obstacle avoidance at all? I've never used one..

So first off the Lidar provides better alt hold up to around I think 10 to 12 meters AGL. It also provides ground following. But I have never tried that.
There is a photo showing the Lidar location. The Lidar is a TFmini https://www.sparkfun.com/products/14588 It's interface is UART so TX and RX and there is a connection on the board for it. There are also mounting holes specific to it. |

Original Build Versus now
Here are two photos showing the original build versus the current build.
Oh and today I got rid of the second 12 bec...The problem was with the gimbal and not the power system. |

I am currently toying with this idea.
The amount of wire that I removed from this motor only, was three leads equal in length to the total length of the frame, nose to rear! Oofa! Talk about amperage increase! |
