Last week end i replaced the 11x5.5 genunine prop by a GemFan 12x4.5.

Un fortunately the 4 GemFan propellers i received are all bent (seen by their side they looks like a ( )and when i pushed the throttle stick over 50% the prop entered in a severe cavitation and produced a frightening ROAR sound.

I just had time to take off and test a torque roll before to land the plane because i was affraid that the propeller blows up in flight !

I noticed that the plane seemed to like the bigger torque delivred by the 12" prop. instead of his genuine 11"

So i decided to order a couple of APC 12x5" SF props.
i received them today so if the weather allows to go to fly this week-end, i will perform a new test !

Hi there,
New propeller tested last sunday : I'm glad to say to you that i've been more than pleased with this APC 12x4.7 SF propeller on the MXs

The plane fly a bit slower but have now a LOT of torque.
Torque rolling now needs only something like 55% the throttle stick curse.
Take off can be VERY short (3 to 4 meters - i.e. more or less 10 ft)

The engine draw a bit more amperas and the flight time with a classic Zippy 2200mAh 40c 3S lipo is shortened of about 1 minute but what a plane now with really PLENTY of power !!!

I really enjoy this setting.
Next step could be testing a whooden 12x4.7 or 12x4.5 prop. Xoar
