Jets off the beach

Maiden the "Habu" today reprogrammed to new transmitter, so I took it little easy flying it on 6S in horrendous wind. After almost 15 years flying two MX22s TXs, it will take me few month to get accustomed to all these new switches and not the best sliders position for flaps on my new radio.

I had a second thought about it today, that's why I stood on the waters edge, rather loosing it in the bush than surf. The wind was NNE at 30+km/h, and I had 100% on all travels. After the flight I reset D/R to 50-60-70% on 3 way switches. I don't like this new TX, it will take me a while to get used to it. Cheers.

Man that beach is crowded
Your x-29 seams to fly nice......looks crazy in the air.I saw the real one fly several times .they did a aerobatic routine one time and it was perfect as if a computer did the flying while the pilot just sat there.

Hi Rog, you hardly see a soul around here, there was for a change my mate taking a stroll.
Since I fitted those winglets it's a different model, now delight to fly even in windy conditions.
With those sharp wing tips it was a dog, I have almost lost it on few occasions during my first flights when it snapped to knife edge during some turns at slower speeds on finals.
New 80mm power unit is on its way so I will have to do some surgery to fit it in to get just a little more grunt. Cheers.

Above model is one of my depron built experimental prototype I have originally built to work out CofG for larger ones powered by jet turbine. Runs on 10S, with 1100kv NEU motor/SM90 fan and 120A, ESC. AUW 4-4.3kg, subj. to batt.

Another exiting flying day taking "HABU" for a quick splash in the surf, wind was all over the place, taking off into the Southeaster and landing hot down the Northwester ending being stuck in soft sand.

Rather windier than I would like but the little "Harrier" didn't mind it.

Today took out 4x4 for a picnic to this isolated beach bringing along couple of little piddly 70mm EDFs I could fit in. Strong wind picked up early, just as we got there, so only one flight with each model in rather turbulent air between the headlands. Northeaster was ranging from 27 to 36km/h during my flying, later blowing 45 to 50+ after great lunch and siesta in the shade.
