DARPA'S New VTOL Concept Aircraft

Remotely controlled VTOL...

It kinda looks like a 24-fan Canard Biplane to me...

Get those tax returns in, boys...

Who's going to be the first to build a model of it?

(Lessee now, how to control those 24 brushless motors... ? )

Looks awfully heavy.

Also, when all that is provided is CG, you know it's still a ways off.

And that is generally the standard for DARPA. If it is done at all, the general rule is;

Hand drawn sketches, 6 years out

Good quality static 3D model, 4 years

Good quality dynamic 3D model, 2-4 years

Photos of construction, 1-2 years
