When I redrew this one from the original plans, I lengthened the nose a little thinking that as it was originally designed for a much heavier glow motor

Seems I was a bit out with my thinking as it needs the battery well back behind the C of G to get it to balance.

I have decided to leave it alone so it will be able to take a very small battery if preferred

Great looking plane Lockey. Can you post it specs for us? The control surfaces look HUGE, I bet you'll need to be a ninja on the sticks on the maiden.

Duke, prop should clear the grass, not by much but I would think it will be in the air in about one metre or 2 ... either that or it will make a good lawn mower

I used 6mm Depron for mine, if you are using foam board or any 5 mm board, make the formers a couple of mm wider and a mm longer and the slot for the wing a little narrower too

Wing span: 985mm (38.75 " )
Length 855mm (34.6inches)
Material: 6mm Depron or MPF (approx one and a half full sheets) 1000 x 700 sheet
Servo’s: 3 x HXT900 9g (or similar)
Motor: D2826-6 ... 2200kv Outrunner Motor (or similar)
ESC: TURNIGY Plush 40amp Speed Controller (or similar)
Prop: 6x4E propeller (or similar)
Estimated weight: 500 - 550 grams (17.6 – 19.4 oz) with 1500 battery

Remember ... as usual, if you build only request is that you post pics of your build and if possible a video or two

Very nice build, and great photo description. Question on the battery though, does it go all the way back in the photo you showed?

Also where is the CG on this.

Yes battery needs to be back there (I think) to achieve the correct C of G .. I was very surprised

According to the original plans, this is where the CG is (see pic) which is where I have the CF spar

You are more than welcome to check it for me if you want to

This will definitely be in my lineup of builds, I have a couple kits that I bought from Bob (Birdofpley) that I received today, then will start this one.

Cool Lockey, It will be easy to angle the fuse back a bit more to get the prop out of the grass.
ie- make a line from the back of the wing on the side of the fuse through to just under the elevator servo and she should sit up nice??

Did someone say V-TAIL!!! LOL..
